1. Dennis Miller

White people used to love Dennis Miller. As an anchor on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update and later hosting his own show on HBO, he captured white people’s hearts everywhere with his “elaborate similes and metaphors involving allusions to obscure people, places, and things.”

But then two things happened: First, he became a commentator for Monday Night Football. Second, 9/11 happened. In its aftermath and the President’s rush to invade Iraq, Miller became and outspoken supporter of the war. How could any intelligent, Hollywood elite who fully supports a woman’s right to an abortion as well as gay marriage be a supporter of the war?

With white people no longer supporting him, Miller was fired from Monday Night Football following the 2001 season and his HBO show was cancelled in 2002.
